Drive A Car

When you visit the islands of Hawaii, it is necessary to rent a car so you can just go anywhere without any hassle. It is the second thing you have to consider when visiting Hawaii to see the scenic spots.

The benefit of renting a car is you don't have to wake up early in the morning to get ready and chase the time when the tour bus is waiting for you. You can spend more time in one place or another rather than stay 5 or 10 minutes to see everything in one place. You can also choose what restaurant you wanted to eat and a lot more.

There are rental cars in all the islands of Hawaii. You have to book them prior to your arrival to get cheaper rates. You can always visit the website for some reasonable prices of rental cars.

I Miss My Father!

While visiting my sister's Friendster, I noticed that she posted some old pictures of me and her. Then I found this picture when my father was carrying me when I was still a baby. My father passed away August of 2003 and three things that made me sad was, he passed away without seeing me getting my two diplomas when I graduated from college. Second thing was, he never did see me get my own job and earn my income and lastly, when I got married. I know he's looking after me for my own safety. I hope he's happy to where I am right now. I miss you, Papa!

Farmer's Market

If you will go to Hawaii, there are several farmer's market where you can buy fresh produce like fruits and vegetables. Some stalls are selling foods, ready-to-eat and some refreshments. When we visited The Garden Isle of Kauai, we visited one of the farmer's market in town and bought fresh tropical fruits. We love it!

My husband, Winn enjoyed the tropical fruits in Hawaii too. He loves rambutan and banana so much. We would love to go back to Hawaii and enjoy our time there.

How Should You Get Fit?

Your Fitness Type: Challenging

You often find exercise to be mundane and too routine.

You need to be continually challenged and pushed.

Try exercise that has a potentially competitive element - like running or weightlifting.

You also may like taking on a partner in a fast paced sport like tennis or racquetball.

Colorful Hibiscus

Remember the kind of flower called hibiscus? In the Philippines, we call it gumamela (local name for hibiscus) and when I was a kid I sneaked out at our neighbor's garden to pick the flower and crush it for my bubble-making pastime. The flowers and leaves are crushed until the sticky juices come out. Hollow papaya stalks are then dipped into this and used as straws for blowing bubbles. They also said that hibiscus is an herbal plant that you can use to heal wounds.

When we went to Hawaii, hibiscus are everywhere blooming with different colors. They are just lovely! The hibiscus flower is traditionally worn by Hawaiian women. A single flower is tucked behind the ear. Which ear is used indicates the wearer's availability for marriage.

No Trees Yet!

It's already the month of May but I don't still see any leaves from the trees. Spring is here and the grass were green. The farmers here in North Dakota cannot plant their crops because it has been raining everyday and just last week, we have hailstorms and been raining all week.

We don't need more rain because the river keeps rising that caused flood in some parts of the state. I wish to see more sunshine and I don't think I am enjoying my Spring 2009 compared to my Spring 2008. I still feel cold everyday.
